Akwa Ibom Specialist Hospital, Uyo, a 308 bed tertiary care facility scalable to 400 beds, the first initiative by the state government of Akwa Ibom to reverse the Medical Tourism in Nigeria & the whole of Africa, is a signature project of MEDCONNECT’s venture into Africa.

This world class specialist hospital commissioned on 26th May 2015 is constructed on an area of 44,000 Sqm in the heart of the city incurring a project cost of N30 bn. The ultramodern hospital is equipped with 1.5 T MRI, 640 slice CT scan – to be the first in the whole of West Africa, Cathlab, Digital Mammography, Endoscopic surgical suites. It is also supported with six fully integrated modular theatres, highly sophisticated intensive care units and fully automated laboratories with pneumatic chute system. It also houses a helipad to facilitate speedy care.

 The hospital has parking lots to accommodate 500 vehicles.
